How to Catalog a Tote with AI
The slow part of any inventory is the typing. Itemify removes it: one photo of an open tote, and StowQR writes the item list for you. Here's the whole flow, tap by tap.
Step 1: Open the tote and tap Itemify
Create or open the tote you want to fill, then tap Itemify. The camera opens, ready to scan the contents. You don't need to lay anything out — just open the box.
Step 2: Snap one photo of the open box
Hold the phone over the open tote so the items are in frame and take a single photo. A vision model detects every item it can see — the more visible an item is, the more reliably it's picked up, so nudge anything buried to the top before you shoot.
Step 3: Review the list and fix anything
Itemify names each item and crops its own thumbnail from the photo, then shows the full set on a review sheet. Tap to rename, deselect anything you don't want to track, and confirm the rest. This is the only place you'll touch the keyboard, and only if the AI got a name wrong.
Step 4: Add photos for a deep box, then save
For a deep or layered tote, take a second or third photo as you dig down. StowQR merges the shots and removes duplicates, so an item that shows up in two photos is only counted once. When the list looks right, save — the items are now part of the tote and show up in search.
