How to Organize Basement Storage with QR Labels

The basement is the house's overflow drive. Everything that doesn't have a home ends up down there, untracked, and the conditions are working against you: cardboard goes soft, marker labels smear, and a damp spring can ruin a box you forgot was on the floor. Sealed bins, kept off the ground and labeled, turn the basement from a dig into a search.

Swap cardboard for sealed bins and get them off the floor

Humidity, the odd leak, and pests all punish cardboard downstairs. Lidded plastic totes hold up, stack square, and keep their contents dry. Pack one theme per bin (tools, camping, baby clothes, paperwork) and set them on shelves or a low platform, not the slab. A couple of inches of water from a bad storm shouldn't reach anything you care about.

One photo per bin, AI writes the list
