How to Scan a QR Code to Open a Tote

Standing in front of the shelf with the box in reach? Don't search — scan. Point your phone at the label and the tote's contents open in a second.

Aim at a label, the tote opens.

Step 1: Open the Scan tab

Tap the Scantab to open the built-in scanner. It's one of the three tabs, always a tap away — no menu digging.

Step 2: Aim at the tote's QR label

Point the camera at the printed label on the box. The scanner recognizes the code right away. No button to press, no app switching. A well-designed, high-contrast label reads fastest, even from an arm's length away.

Step 3: The tote opens instantly

The full contents of that tote appear: every item with its thumbnail. You confirm what's inside without cutting tape or pulling everything off the shelf.

Bonus: scan from a photo or message

QR codes work as deep links too. Scan a label from a photo, an email, or a text and it opens the right tote directly in StowQR, handy when a family member sends you a shot of a box in the garage.
